"Entrance to Birkenau"

When I studied abroad in Italy, I made a trip to Poland and Hungary for spring break. There we were able to take a tour of Auschwitz concentration camp, and the women's camp, Birkenau. What I witnessed on those tours has changed my life forever. I wanted to create a piece that represented the looming horror that lay behind the entrance gate when prisoners were sent into the camps.

  1. Hey, Jessica, this is Heikal, the one Robert Walter introduced you to a few days ago. I love your ceramic(?) work. They're the most brilliant. Especially this one. It is so alive. Meep meep
